anybody know how to make a smart filter for showing today’s edits, or the last hours or whatever. or is there maybe another way of getting this?

In Font View, you can switch to List View (click the four horizontal lines in the top-left of the window) and sort the table by Last Changed. Click the Last Changed column heading to sort by that column. Click the heading again to reverse the sort.
