The same character from several layers next to each other

I often like to place the same character from several layers next to each other for comparison. this all works fine, but if I close the file, or quit glyphs, I lose any arrangements I have made, and I will just get several of the same character from a single layer. Is there a way around this? if not, can it be added as a feature?

Depends on how you add them, I guess. In any event, you can quickly recreate them with Edit > Show all masters.

Works for me. What happens instead? Or, which layers are you missing?
