As part of a font, I have made a drawing of the person the font is dedicated to (see below). When I try to export the font, it balks at the complexity of the one glyph, I presume. By checking off subroutines, it exports fine. What does “Subroutines” do, is it vital, should I be concerned?
That should be fine. It’s about saving file space. More info can be found in the Creating Fonts with Complex Outlines tutorial; there’s a section titled Subroutines, too.
