I’m experiencing crazy issue – my typeface is not exporting.
I was working on the same file for about a month, making small changes from time to time – and exporting from time to time. Exporting to a folder Files in Adobe folder. Everything was working perfectly until now. I did changes in the drawing of a, no more changes. After the change, I saved file as usual cmd+s, and then cmd+e and export, as usual, to the Fonts folder. I opened Illustrator, wanted to see the changes and after this export my font completely disappeared.
The crazy thing is that it still is in the folder, but not showing in any Adobe program.
I tried renaming, copying Glyphs file and renaming it but nothing worked.
Remove the font (the .otf or .ttf file) from the Fonts folder remove each copy of the font that might be there. Check if the font doesn’t show up in the font list in Illustrator.
Restart the mac.
Export the font from Glyphs again. Check the font file if it is basically OK (e.g. by quicklook or opening it in Glyphs; or better run it through fontBakery).
Then open Illustrator again and check if it shows up.
I removed all the files possible, restarted computer few more times with the instructions found on Glyphs site.
I exported a file and it’s still not working properly – only 1 instance (out of 6) is showing. Running through FontBakery and Fontspector – it is basically OK, though some troubles showed but with the metrics that I didn’t even touch. I was trying to solve this mystery with my friend, but even she doesn’t know what’s happening.
