TrueType font appears as OT in InDesign?

A TrueType font appears as a OpenType font when I install & use it in InDesign?

Long standing Adobe bug. But technically, the TTFs are OpenType Fonts as well.

OK. Does this .ttf fontfile contains my ttfAutohint instructions?

Of course. As Rainer said, both are OpenType fonts, only difference is how the outlines are stored. And some other tables.
