Unable to Export OTF from Illustrator

Hey y’all!

Before I start I have checked out the topic talking about illustrator to glyphs.

Within illustrator I have edited some letterforms (sorry Greg) and then copied them over to glyphs ( similar to this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEe0Bj3KuUw ) Once I have the whole alphabet and try to export. I get message saying there is overlap on multiple letters. I get this error message:

Something went wrong with the Remove Overlap filter in glyph

I was wondering that the issue was. If anyone could help that would be great. Thank you a ton! Hope y’all are safe and well!

The error might be caused be complex outlines. Have you read this: https://glyphsapp.com/tutorials/creating-fonts-with-complex-outlines

Thanks for the response @GeorgSeifert !

Still having issues. The outline is not complex, I am unable to remove the overlap. Photos below

What version of Glyphs and MacOS do you have?

I have Glyphs Version 2.6.1 (1230) on macOS Catalina.

I just came to this conclusion when I tried to export my previous fonts that I have exported before (not exporting either with the same issue)

Could this be the issue? Thanks @GeorgSeifert !

Edit currently updating now

working! Thank you @GeorgSeifert for all your help!
