Using Glyphs to create ligatures for Operator Mono font (YouTube)

This is a quick video showing how I created the ligatures for the Operator Mono font. This was my first time ever using the app and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to use.

If you have any tips on how I can do some things better, please let me know. Thanks!

You can get the ligatures on my GitHub.

Some suggestions:

  • You don’t need to remove the overlap and correct path directions. The first is done automatically on export and the second was already fine
  • This tutorial might help: https://glyphsapp.com/tutorials/recipes

Thanks for the tips! I saw the Remove Overlap option on the Export screen.

I guess this was just a habit I got in when I was using FontForge.

Glyphs is so much easier to use.

And I forgot. In some cases you can even keep the components. e.g., in =>, just scale the equal component horizontally.

Awesome! Thanks again.

That would definitely speed up the process. It will also make it easier to come back and tweak things if needed.
