V diacritic in Arabic

Hello, I’ve noticed that now there’s a new diacritic with V shape for some Arabic glyphs. I’ve never seen it before and is not even available as diacritic in order to make it a component. Can you please explain?

Hi, it is used in “Sorani Kurdish”, like:
ێ ۆ ڵ
[Vabove-ar | Unicode: 065A]

Thanks. I appreciate the unicode info. That’s what I needed.

Hello.

@qassimhaider
There also Vbelow mark used in characters like rehVbelow-ar. Is there a Unicode value for this mark or its correct name, maybe like… vbelow-ar?

@GeorgSeifert
There are about 13 glyphs in Kurdish that use vabove-ar and vbelow-ar diacritical marks. However these marks are not represented either in the Kurdish or in the Based Shapes lists. If possible, please include these two marks to the Kurdish list for ease of components building. Thanks.

I added vabove-ar and vbelow-ar to the Kurdish sidebar entry. Thanks for the suggestion.

vabove-ar does have a unicode: 065A, vbelow-ar doesn’t have one. It is always part of a glyph.
