So whenever I use my variable font in Illustrator it works for a while and I can move up and down on the parameters, then suddenly illustrator will crash. I tried removing the font and played with parameters on other variable fonts and it works fine, so I’m pretty sure that the font I created is the problem. Also whenever I use it in Figma, I can’t use the parameters.
Funny because the variable axes works completely fine in Cavarly and I can use it there without any problems. Please help
This sounds like an issue where a master is missing for an instance, or vice versa, I don’t quite remember (InDesign had problems with this).
Can you post a list of your master axis locations, as well as your instances?
Drop your variable font onto fontbakery.com, it will report such issues. Look for things related to fvar, STAT and name tables.
Thanks for the quick reply Sebastian!
All masters and instances(exports) align and the master axis locations are the same as the instances:

Does Fontbakery report anything on your exported font?
Yeah there is a few problems.
But just tried to delete all instances and only added the variable font setting in export and now it works in illustrator.
Could you send me the file as it was before you deleted the instances?
