Variable font Export Problem With an Older File

When trying to export a variable font from an older Glyphs 2 font file I get this error message:

Problem compiling “GPOS” table
Subtable Overflow in lookup: 4 type: MarkToLigatureAttachment

Has anyone encountered this message before and has a solution?

That means that the GPOS table doesn’t fit into the simple lookup space. You can try to add the “Use Extension Kerning” to the font settings.
