Virtual Master, exact copy, different spacing (opsz variable)

Is it currently possible to have 2 exact same masters with different spacing (in export filters) that also work on an opsz axis?

I have one Master for text, and I’d like to keep it exactly the same for display, just space it a bit more tight. For this, I’ve set up an instance: Medium A (original) and Medium B (with export filter transformations of LSB RSB -12). Now I’m wondering, how could I export this as a variable font with an optical size axis? Is that possible? Or would I need to create a master from the instance first? I just want to keep the drawings exactly the same.

Hello, I am trying to achieve something similar. I have a project with only a weight and an italic axis. I would now like to add an opsz axis that controls only the spacing. Ideally, in my working file, I would like to add as little as possible in order to keep everything easily editable. My thought process is the following: I add an opsz axis and set the same value for all masters (20, let’s say) I add a “Virtual Master” custom parameter and set opsz to 8.
