Hey guys, I’m wondering what this command does. When I add it it opens a modal box to find something but it’s empty.

It’s a special kind of component whose name has to start with “_cap.” and have open outline whose opening is the same as stem width.
In the picture, the glyph on the left only contains a rectangle. The cap component has a serif shape with opening.
Cap component options appear when you select two nodes. There is also a corner component that appears when you have one corner selected, which is also useful for making serif via component, or ink trap.
