Feature Request: Discard of dots for ID6 in FamilyName

A few month back it was changed, so we couldn’t export with dots in the FamilyName. It was made because dots are illegal in ID6. In this tread(Illegal character) it was suggested that Glyphs just discard the dots in the ID6 as it does with spaces.
I think this is a great suggestion and I think it’s something we should have soon :slight_smile:

Thanks for the reminder.

I changed it that Glyphs will remove all illegal chars when it generates the fontName. Manually set fontNames still need to be made valid by the user.
