You manually removed extra points or extremes (we need a better terminology for this)? Because it seems to me like a good idea to tell the algorithm to leave the extreme points, and delete all other points in between. No?
No, have a look where the original bottom extem point is and where the extreme point is in the offseted outline is it shifted quite a bit. And in different situations, the offsetting might generate a path that doesnât need an extreme point at all or produces new onesâŚ
Wait, are we still talking about a setup where the user would have to set the three pressure points (start/max/end)? If so, you can tell the algorithm to remove all other points in that segment before moving anything else?
Not the setup but the process of offsetting the curve.
Would it help to separate the feature in several steps? First step would be to do the offset curve to get the monoline. And only after that the user gets to set the pressure points.
